Diving - Sterling at it again
just watching MOtD 2

Sterling blatant dive in the opening minutes of the Liverpool Man City game.

Will it go unpunished? Of course it will

Sven, couldn't agree more. I said at the time that any respect I had for Hughes went out of the window. His behavior was appalling and he should have been charged. Clearly swearing at another team's player is an awful example to set and something should have been done. As usual, nothing does get done except when it goes against us. Sterling and Alli go down far too easily for my liking and the pair of them are sh!t when they play for England which is even more frustrating.

I still don’t think Lanzini did anything wrong
It only became an issue because Mark Hughes made it one because he was looking for excuses in a desperate attempt to keep his job after a 3-0 home defeat by West Ham
All that fuss took away from his disgraceful abuse of Arnautovic as he left the pitch as well.

There should be reviews of dives and cheating all over the pitch with serial offenders punished
Alli would be on a four month break and Spurs would have had points deducted if they were serious.

Wenger a few days ago: “I remember there were tremendous cases here when foreign players did it (diving) but I must say the English players have learned very quickly and they might even be the masters now.”

I think he makes a fair point. A lot of the big divers in the league are English.

It's fucked because there are so many who just wipe it under the carpet now as being part of the game.

I'd absolutely love to kick both Sterling and Alli in the face John Hartson style.

Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
I have ranted enough before but if you look at the Lanzini one and then the one Dele Alli did at Burnley there is no difference whatsoever. I said at the time I could stomach Lanzin's ban as long as other incidents got dealt with in the same way. Alli did not even go to an FA enquiry. The whole thing is flawed as it is administered by cunts.

The Smalling one had a touch of absolute beauty about it... I mean... the 5 foot gap between him and the NUFC player... absolute football poetry that...

Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
Since Lanzini's ban, there have been several similar incidents that have gone unpunished. There was a media drive to get Lanzini banned and the FA reacted to this. Since then, it seems that diving is just clever attacking play and an acceptable part of the game.

A few players were made an example but it has done nothing to stop diving and the cowardly FA have shown themselves to be the two faced hypocrites that they are.

Would have appreciated Man U doing us a favour, but that made up for it.

Smalling gets the "Dive of the week" award. Really sweet that the resultant free kick led to Newcastle's goal too.

How was Lanzini's dive any worse than Kane's against Liverpool?

Oh no silly me. Lanzini isn't England's main striker. Apologies.

Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
I know you have to distance your officials and governing body somewhat but I would really like someone to be able to sit down and directly question what the difference between the Lanzini one and a host of similar incidences since.

I said Lanzini dived and should take his punishment if it meant that there was an actual change in policy. Sadly this is what I expected.

Really? He's doing well hiding it, what with having all those kids with different birds.

Kane is a media darling, there is no way anyone was going to accuse him of diving. What he did was absolutely no different to Lanzini . The whole process is a disgrace and a farce

Bernie 12:58 Mon Feb 12
Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
I cannot believe the kane one wasn't even sent to the panel to decide whether it was a dive or not, it was clearly a dive and led to a penalty.

It's disgusting that the rule has been implemented and only a handful of decisions have been looked at, diving is still going on every week in almost every game so clearly this new regulation isn't working at all.

No action taken against Kane so why would it surprise anyone that no action is taken against Stirling

Dolittle,

You'd have had a couple of posters from another long running thread salivating at the title until they clicked and saw you were talking about Raheem!

2 more blatent dives vs Leicester on Saturday. Still no cards, no retrospective punishments, not even a comment on MOTD.

Just proves that the FA aren't serious about cutting out diving....at least not where the top teams are concerned

Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
The Watford handball goal was so obvious I can't believe the officials didn't spot it. I sometimes wonder what they are watching because it certainly isn't the game. Mind you, some linos do spot offside and handball and the numpty f**kwit of a ref overrules them anyway.
